E-Beetle – Electrified Classic with Higher Performances

The days of the future past are here starting with Volkswagen’s electrified edition of the beetle. E-beetle will premier with the near-production version in September 2019 at the international motor show in Frankfurt. The car has higher performance and increased weighed due to electrification which required reinforcement of chassis and brakes. Weighing 1,280kg, it still accelerates to 50kh/h in under 4 seconds, and reaches 80 km/h in just 8+ seconds, with performance peaks of 60°kW /82°PS Total speed is around 150 km/h and the range of the e-beetle is 200 km. In the case of running out of electricity, quick charging is possible with built-in components. “Innovative e-components from Volkswagen group components are under the bonnet –- we work with them to electrify historically important vehicles, in what is an emotional process. we are also providing beetle owners with a professional conversion solution, using production parts of the highest quality,” shares Thomas Schmall, member of the board of management of Volkswagen group components.
