Elena Elkina Kovaleva Illustrates Brilliantly On Cakes For Children

Elena Elkina-Kovaleva lives in Moscow, Russia and works as a confectioner. She started doing this 4 years ago, though she has never made cakes before. At first, she made cakes for children with gingerbread, then she turned this into a kind of art by illustrating on cakes. In our interview with her, she says “I create art cakes on completely different topics. I create my textures from chocolate. I paint on different coatings: chocolate, cream cheese, velor. All the decorations on the cakes edible – balls of chocolate and caramel; waffle flowers.” She adds “I think that a cake is something more than a dessert that can be eaten. A cake is an opportunity to give another person a sincere emotion.” She takes her inspiration from travelling, natural textures, child laughter and smiles for her sweet project “#glavgnom”
