After 20 years in the commercial field, 48-year-old Thai photographer Visarute Angkatavanich decided it was a time for a change in his career. It was the best idea he could ever have. He studied at Communication Arts at the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Today his aquatic art pieces are the most famous in the world. Some of these photos were globaly introduced by iPhone 6’s and iPhone 6s plus as wallpapers. Visarute was inspired way back by his childhood memories when he had a pet fish. He’s portraying Siamese fighting fish also known as Betta. Using stark contrast between white and black backgrounds, crystalline aquariums, and just the perfect lenses and lighting for his art. The final result is almost an illusion of fish hovering in the air instead of water. Visarute has a Facebook page where you can learn more about his art.
