“Lazy Things” by Guodong Zhao

How much time during the day you spend watching at any kind of display? Just asking, no judging here, but we all know that our habits are not very good nor healthy. The ever increasing presence of the Internet, social media and the powerful streaming services that allow us to watch a wide variety of TV shows, movies, documentaries are making this generation very lazy. Having that in mind, Guodong Zhao, a digital illustrator from Beijing, China, created this fun and relaxing project titled “Lazy Things”. There we can find various animals sitting in comfortable beanbags, whilst at the same time, watching TV, typing on smartphones or playing Video Games. It’s quite funny but at the same time reminding. We picked our favorites and you can head over to Zhao’s Instagram Page to see more lazy little things.

Images of slothful animals are the parody of how lazy this generation is becoming.

Each animal required an extra attention to detail to get the complex textures just right.

To achieve that, Zhao employed the Pixologic ZBrush, a tool for sculpting which allows to combine modelling, texturing and 3D painting.

The tallest living terrestrial animal and the largest ruminant can’t resist either.

And he’s just chillin’.

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Oh, well, it’s snack time!
