“Melanin Goddess” Teach Us How to Love Ourselves and Appreciate the Differences

Khoudia Diop is a 22-year-old Senegalese fashion model who’s taken the internet by storm with her beautifully rich skin tone. But not that long ago this precious girl was bullied because of her dark skin color. Growing up as a different kid wasn’t easy, she was teased a lot by other kids and also racist comments weren’t rare, but she got over it, she faced it by confronting the bullies. Since then Khoudia, now a famous model based in Paris and New York, who started modeling when she was 17, has won the social networks with her beautiful pictures that have earned her a following of over 540k on Instagram. She’s also inspiring people to embrace their differences, writing that – “If you’re lucky enough to be different, don’t ever change.” This brave girl is an example to all of us, we have to learn to love ourselves and to love ourselves more every day. She’s just perfect as she is and so are you who read this, and if you ever have any doubts about that, just remember that life is beautiful and you have to embrace that beauty with every atom in your being and set yourself free, let your beauty glow and grow even bigger and more divine. We are the beautiful ones. Beautiful, so beautiful.

Inner peace is the new success.

She said the reason behind her nickname, which makes reference to the pigment that gives people their skin tone, is to encourage people to be confident in themselves.

“Because of my dark, melanin rich complexion and because I want to inspire young girls and let them know that we are all goddesses inside and out.”

Khoudia has inspired thousands of people around the world with her striking looks and inner strength.

More diversity is needed on catwalks, she said.

“I want to inspire other young women of color and empower them. I want them to know that they can do and be anything they dream of.”
