Vibrant Watercolor Paintings of Animals and Flowers by Ella Sadika Jackson

London, The UK based Ella Sadika Jackson is a self-taught artist who paints immaculate fauna and flora pieces. She studied English Literature at university. “Although I didn’t study art at university, I did start making posters for the university theatre company. That experience pushed me and massively helped my confidence with my paintings. I wouldn’t be working as an artist now without that experiece.” she states on her feed, adding that; “Being mostly self-taught has definitely put me on a few detours over the years. I’ve picked up techniques along the way by watching how people work in other mediums – my work changed substantially last year after I saw a friend glazing his colours in an oil painting.” When asked why she chose watercolour as her medium she replies; “Absolutely I fell into it! I guess the layering and the translucency of watercolour just sing to me. I love the wet on wet texture you can get from watercolour and that you can lift it off if you make a mistake. It is such a forgiving medium.” When she first started posting her art pieces online, it was still a hobby of her. In the past few years, things have changed and her confidence has grown and she became a full-time artist who has been working on several exciting projects (including classes, collaborations and her own print products). She even got her artwork transformed into @paperself temporary tattoos, you will see a couple of them in our gallery. She plans to paint more birds in the near future as she thinks their feathers are the most satisfying things to paint. Below you can see some of her brilliant art pieces. Enjoy!
